The construction works proceed in Carvalho Araújo Avenue and surrounding streets, in Vila Real, creating green spaces and placing urban furniture, adapting the space to pedestrians and people with reduced mobility.
The intervention of around 1.9 million euros is foreseen in the Strategic Urban Development Plan (PEDU) promoted by the Municipality of Vila Real and has UE funding.
The new design - with architecture by António Belém Lima and NRV design engineering – is built on the idea of a city with fewer cars and a good pedestrian infrastructure. Enabling a more pleasant and populated public space and inviting socialization are the goals, thus creating a more creative and entrepreneurial environment.
