Thirteen of these bridges are located in the Dakar Region and allow to ensure unevenness in points with heavy traffic congestion. Two are located in the north, in the Saint Louis Region, and solve discontinuities in a network with large agricultural activity. Three bridges will be in the south – two in Ziguinchor for reconstruction of existing works on the road that connects to Gambia, and one in Marsassoum which closes a mesh in the region of Sendhiou.
There will about 5,400 meters of bridges and 11 kilometers of connecting roads. The engineering structures, with lengths ranging from 120 to 600 m, will be executed in mixed structures, including a high level of pre-fabrication.
The project is promoted by the Ministry of Infrastructures. The estimate is that the works will take about 44 months. A French contractor will be in charge of the design and construction [images from the design].
