Last October, we were in Dakar working with Ageroute to prepare the engineering studies for the financing negotiation of this new highway between Dakar and Saint Louis.
After a first roundtable held in May, in Dakar, a new visit of the entities that intend to finance the construction took place. The financing agreements are in the final phase and the tenders for construction of the first haul should move forward at early next year.
The highway connects the two main cities of the country and is part of the structuring axis of a policy of management and planning of the coastal territory. With a total of 200 km, the first phase takes off with about 114 km, between Dakar and Lompoul. Shorten travel durations and reduce accidents are some of the goals of the highway that will benefit activities such as fishing, agriculture and tourism.
NRV has been responsible for the development of the engineering studies, granting Ageroute all the technical support for the financing negotiation and the launching of the tenders for the construction.
