Following the passage of Oscar Depression through Madeira Island, it is important to highlight the good performance of Funchal rivers.
Although rainfall levels were similar to those of February 20th 2010 flood, the works carried out on S. Luzia, João Gomes and S. João rivers, designed by NRV and LCW, ensured the safe flow of water through Funchal.
