NRV in VDN extension work in Dakar

09 July 2021

NRV has signed a contract for technical assistance and subsequent supervision of the VDN extension work in Dakar. The Voie de Dégagement Nord is a fundamental road infrastructure in the management of road traffic in the Senegalese capital.

This road axis, with a 2x2 lane profile, has a total length of 38 km: 18.5 km are already in service – between the business center node and Tivaouane Peulh – and 19.5 km are still to be built between Tivaouane Peulh and Diamniadio.

The road project will be carried out in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP), including construction and operation. It will include the rehabilitation of existing sections, junctions and toll areas.

The NRV will, in a first phase, support the government of Senegal in designing the PPP model, as well as in negotiating the contract with interested private partners. Later, during the construction period, it will ensure supervision and quality control.

This contract comes at a time when NRV is consolidating its position in West Africa with relevant projects in Senegal, Gambia and Côte d'Ivoire.
