Thinking the human presence in the underground is the main goal of the engineering seminar that will cover several areas: from Mechanics to Electricity and Electronics, Computing, Control and Security to Architecture and Psychology.
How can we improve working conditions in tunnel construction? What strategies are there to fight fires? How can technology make these spaces safer during operation? These are some of the topics to be addressed at the day of talks and presentations promoted by the Portuguese Commission on Tunneling and Underground Space (CPT) of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG) and the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC).
