The last 25th of April, Portugal celebrated freedom but it wasn’t just that. To us, in NRV Norvia, Tuesday was also the day of the opening of a construction with our design, in Madeira. Miguel Albuquerque, president of the regional government, was at the event that opened the highway that connects Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, a new way to shorten the distance to Funchal.
The construction, that started back in 2007, was suspended a couple of times until it came back in full force – its relevance was recognized by Brussels, since it was the only construction that had the European Union’s support to be concluded. NRV Norvia was responsible for the design and for the technical assistance during the construction. The highway, with 2,5 km, has a double tunnel and three important viaducts.
