In January we announced that Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP; road and railway portuguese authority) had qualified us for railways design services, in a consortium formed with the French consultancy company SETEC. Now we advance further: we have been chosen for the first contract on railways. This first project focuses on the "Preliminary design, environmental studies and detailed design for the electrification of the Algarve corridor in the section between Faro and Vila Real de Santo António."
The contract was signed last week, the design team was already on site, and the kick-off meeting was held at IP.
The opportunity arises in the context of an ambitious investment plan in the national railway network that, amongst other goals, aims to create a better connection on the main terrestrial boarders with Spain.
