Emissary OF THE VOUGA SEVER

Feasibility analysis of the alternative solution to the final destination of Sever do Vouga domestic wastewater (Wastewater - "high" system EA.09).
The study considered as a possible alternative to the construction of the WWTP in the initially planned, the construction of an outfall of about 14 km, to connect the effluents from the EA.07 system to one of the entry points of the current system of "Baixo Vouga". The study target population totaled about 11,000 inhabitants. The diameters of the outfall are between Ø250 and Ø500mm. To overcome the unevenness along the route, lifting stations with powers between 30 and 50 kw were studied.
The methodology applied in the elaboration of the study was based on the identification and characterization of the alternative outfall tracing to the WWTP and on a technical feasibility study of the solution, including a technical and economic comparison with the initially predicted solution.
