FIGUEIRA GORDA DAM & SUPPLY NETWORK

Gravity dam in mortar bonded stone for water retention to supply agriculture watering, irrigating for a total of 60 ha. Faveta dam characteristics:
. Maximum height above foundations of 34,7 m and crown with total length of 60,5 m;
. Bleeder sized for a maximum flow of 363,0 m³/s, consisting of a single free discharger (type Creager) by the discharge channel on the badges below the dam, ending a ski jumping hill;
. Bottom discharge (Ø500 mm) inserted in the dam body and sized for a maximum flow of 2,3 m³/s;
. Water supply for irrigation (Ø400 mm) in the upstream face of the dam.
The irrigation water system uses a main conduit FFD cast iron (Ø500 mm), with 2 valves in high density polyethylene (Ø160 mm), one for each bank of the river.
