HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION OF GOUVÃES

The Gouvães Hydroelectric Power Station, located in a large territory in the interior of Trás-os-Montes region, in the Tâmega river basin, is part of the Tâmega Electroproduction System (SET). SET, one of the most important hydroelectric projects carried out in Europe in the last 25 years, includes the construction of three dams - Alto Tâmega, Daivões and Gouvães - and was part of the set of ten power stations identified in the National Program for Dams with High Hydroelectric Potential (PNBEPH).
The project includes the execution of the new accesses in a total extension of 11Km, the execution of heaps for surplus land deposit and the execution of platforms for installation of various equipment. The study also includes the specialties of road design, drainage, geology-geotechnics, pavement and signaling.
