NATIONAL PLAN FOR THE TERRITORY DEVELOPMENT OF SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE

Urban Infrastructure and Sanitation, Urban and Regional planning

The National Plan for Land-use Planning in São Tomé and Príncipe is being developed by NRV I Norvia, in association with Ofek (Israel), PLMJ Law Firm (Portugal) and Equatorial (São Tomé and Príncipe). The contract is financed by the African Development Bank.
The project is part of São Tomé and Príncipe's National Strategy for Poverty Reduction (SNRP), which aims to guide interventions in the fight against poverty and improve the quality of population life. SNRP envisages the elaboration of a National Territorial Planning and Urbanization Policy, which aims to contribute to the development and reduction of poverty through better use, occupation and transformation of the territory, allowing a more inclusive and sustainable social-economic development .
The PNOT includes the following works:
• Elaboration of aerial photography, orthophotomaps, LIDAR coverage and basic cartography and geographic information systems;
• Revision of legislation on land use, town planning, land tenure and construction;
• Elaboration of the National Plan, the Plan of the Autonomous Region of the Prince, and the Regional Plans of Água Grande, Mé-Zochi, Caué, Lembá, Lobata and Cantagalo.
