After the contract on Runway 17-35 at Francisco Sá Carneiro airport, located in Oporto - the largest centrality in the north of Portugal, it was developed the project for the expansion of Taxyway F, subdivided into 2 lots: Lot 1 - Construction, Lot 2 - Light Signaling.

Lot 1 - CONSTRUCTION. Contract goals were:

  • enlargement of Taxyway F up to 2,565m of Runway 17-35, including the construction of a By-Pass and a rapid lane exit (RET);
  • enlargement of Fábrica Street tunnel under Runway17-35 at 91,30m, with transversal and longitudinal characteristics identical to the existing tunnel, ensuring a pedestrian path along its entire length.

Lot 2 - LIGHT SIGNALING - The project goals is to provide the new taxyways all the recommended visual aids in the CS-ADR-DSN of EASA, including all auxiliary equipment for protection against runway incursions and management of aircraft ground movement. Visual aids and auxiliary equipment will also be complemented with their command and control systems.
