In a typical estate with a large farming house of the great Alentejo, located next to Vila do Redondo, a tourist resort is planned, centred on wine and golf. The main house, with an 18th century layout, was restored for the installation of the boutique hotel. The Project was classified as a National Interest Project (Project PIN-125). The Herdade da Palheta project was also selected to integrate a set of 11 tourism projects considered of a structuring character, called "Evora - New Tourist Projects of Excellence", and which were presented publicly by the Government in a session held in Monsaraz on January 26, 2008. The project includes an 18-hole golf course, a Clubhouse, a 5-star boutique hotel with 50 rooms, five tourist villages of 4 or 5 stars, with a total of 70,000 m2 of construction, a Vineyard, a Cellar. The small chapel of St. Barnabas, which is attributed to the year 1810, will be restored.
