ROAD ROUGHNESS SURVEY IN CAPE VERDE

Pavement monitoring

The Road Roughness survey in Santiago Island, Cape Verde, was conducted within the contract awarded to IDG by Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), in order to conduct an economic analysis and performance evaluation of the Compact´s Roads and Bridges Activity in Cape Verde. The test was conducted in the segments financed by MCC, namely:

  • Road 1: EN1-ST-03 - Órgãos / Pedra Badejo (10,0 km) – Rehabilitation from cobblestone to asphalt standard.
  • Road 2: EN1-ST-04 - Cruz Grande / Calhetona (13,7 km) – Rehabilitation from cobblestone to asphalt standard.
  • Road 4: EN3-ST-22 – Assomada / Porto Rincão (15,6 km) – Rehabilitation from cobblestone to asphalt standard with the exception of the Chão de Tanque / Achada Grande sub-section that was rehabilitated in cobblestone (a 1 km long steep gradient segment).
