SKID RESISTANCE EVALUATION IN PORTUGUESE AIRPORTS

Pavement skid resistance evaluation with Grip-Tester during rubber removal works with water-jet system. Service is performed in two stages - prior and after rubber removal works. First stage is performed in order to identify areas with low skid resistance due to rubber accumulation. Second stage consists on skid resistance validation after rubber removal works. In both stages skid resistance evaluation is performed taking in consideration ICAO specifications, namely skid resistance reference values.
