Puerto Caucedo is a world-class container terminal and free zone located in Punta Caucedo, on the south coast of Dominican Republic, near the city of Santo Domingo. It is owned by Caucedo Investments Inc. (CII) and operated by DP World. Port activity mainly comprises the handling of container ships visiting the port, as well as some breakbulk cargo. These activities are carried out in a continuous manner, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

ZFMC (the Client) wishes to develop a new berth, to be known as berth C3, in continuity with the existing berth C2. This berth is to have the capacity to cater for Triple E vessels and future class Megamax-24 vessels. The length of the quay between the C1 and C2 berths is 600 m, and the depth of water varies between -13.20 m and -15.2 m.

The berth C3 shall have the following characteristics:

  • 412 m long and depth of -19 m (CD);
  • Combiwall-type containment curtain composed of large-diameter reinforced concrete piles and metal sheet piles secured by metal rods;
  • Superstructure in reinforced concrete.
