CASABLANCA PORT - NEW SHIPYARD

The Port of Casablanca is located on the west coast of Morocco. The location of the new shipyard is located in the basin closest to the port entrance, supporting the transverse breakwater.

The construction of the new shipyard is part of the requalification for the old Casablanca Port, opening the port to the city and developing port activities. This decision was also taken in response to the need to monitor the development of the shipbuilding and repair sector in Morocco and internationally.

The new Casablanca shipyard comprises the following infrastructure:

• A dry dock with 240 m of length, 40 m wide and a draft of 7.00 m;
• A lifting platform with a capacity of 5000 t;
• A gantry crane with a capacity of 450 t;
• Three quays:
• Quay 1 approximately with 350 m of length and a depth of -8.70 m (CD);
• Quay 2 approximately with 200 m of length and a depth of -11.00 m (CD);
• Quay 3 approximately with 160 m of length and a depth of -8.00 m (CD).
