The Algarve Motor Park is a complex built for major racing competitions. It includes one main race track for cars and motorbikes, another for karts and a third for off-road cars. The complex construction included the racecourse and its drainage, two road tunnels, two road tunnels, two pedestrian tunnels and a retaining wall 500 meter long. The Paddock area, with a total area of 92.000m2, also includes two heliports. Following FIA and FIM requirements, the race track surface consisted of a mixture of asphalt with high-performance technology SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) composed of fiber cells that provide better grip, more resistance and more effective drainage. The A.I.A. obtained a license from the FIA for Formula 1 tests and tests for the FIM Moto GP.
